
For the first 2 weeks of art camp, SES 1st graders got to try out paper mache, make bracelets, and paint a beautiful spring landscape! These artists had so much fun getting artsy!











These SMS students participated in Crochet Camp, let by Ms. Wibbenmeyer! Some of the students are new to crochet, and they are learning to chain and single crochet. Other students with some experience are having fun and getting crafty!







The elementary school was looking extra grown up last Friday! “What do you want to be when you grow up” was our theme day to finish off Dr. Seuss Week!

Tryouts will take place on April 4th from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM at the SMS gym. We will have Tryout Practices on April 1st through April 3rd from 3:45 PM until 5:30 PM each day. Please wear black shorts, a black or red t-shirt, and tennis shoes! Students MUST have a physical on file to attend.

Video submissions will be accepted no later than April 5th for students participating in a separate extra curricular activity that interferes with tryouts! Kindergarten screening for the upcoming kindergarten class of 2025-2026 is coming up this month!!!
Date: Friday, March 21st, 2025
Location: Steelville Central Office (817 W Main Street)
Schedule: Please call the elementary office at (573) 775-2099 to schedule. Call as soon as possible, because appointment spots fill quickly! Appointment times will be 30-minute appointments, with availability from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
What to bring: Please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, shot record, court documentation (custody/guardianship/parenting plans/other), and proof of residency (for example electric bill or rental agreement).
Information: Your child will be screened while parents/guardians fill out registration paperwork and an assessment tool. When your child has finished their screening, a staff member will review their results with a parent/guardian.

SES earned a reward on Friday due to the outstanding review they received from our state PBIS reps! The reps said SES, students and teachers alike, were rocking their PBIS expectations, which help create a safe and positive environment for all. ‼️2025-26 Preschool Screening‼️
Screening for the Steelville Preschool will be held on Thursday, March 20th, at the Early Childhood Building. Students MUST turn 4 by July 31, 2025, and be screened to be eligible. If interested, follow the steps on the link below and sign up for a screening time.
