The FBLA students competed in the District Leadership Conference at Lebanon today. The top 5 places in objective test and the top 2 places in performance events are qualified to compete at the State Leadership Conference in April. Here are the results:

Due to lingering slick spots on some of our bus routes, there will be no school for Steelville School District tomorrow, Tuesday, January 23rd.
The Steelville Board of Education has selected Mr. Steven Vetter as the next superintendent of the District. He will officially begin his duties on July 1, 2024. Mr. Vetter is currently the High School Principal at Steelville R-III. He has 18 years of experience in education with the last 12 of those years in administration.
“After completing the superintendent search with E.G.L., we were thrilled that we have such an ideal candidate right here at home. Mr. Vetter’s experience as high school principal in Steelville and skill set aligns with the District’s mission and desire to continue the tradition of excellence in Steelville.” said Scott Perkins, Board of Education President.
Mr. Vetter earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and his Master’s Degree from Cameron University. More recently, Mr. Vetter earned his Education Specialist from Northwestern Missouri State University. Throughout his career, Mr. Vetter has continued to grow professionally by taking classes, reading, researching, and learning from those around him. He is proud to be a lifelong learner, and he values continued learning for other educators.
“I am honored to be selected as the new superintendent of the Steelville School District, ‘' said Mr. Vetter. “I am grateful to have this opportunity to serve the Steelville community, staff, and students. I am committed to making a profound, positive, and long-lasting impact.
