Happy Parents as Teachers Day!
Today, we celebrate the invaluable role of parents as their child's first and most important teacher. Our Parents as Teachers program, led by the incredible Jen Mullen, is dedicated to empowering parents with the knowledge and tools to support their child's development.
Thank you, Mrs. Mullen, for your dedication to our families! Your guidance and support make a lasting impact on our littlest Cardinals' lives!

Please join us in recognizing these four amazing staff members of the week!!! Mrs. Wishon, Mrs. Adams, Miss Harmon, and Mr. Merritt, thank you for everything you do for our district! We have the best of the best here at Steelville R-3!!!

Thank you to Mrs. Wallis for hosting our staff luncheon during our workday on Monday! This charcuterie board was absolutely beautiful, and made for a wonderful meal during a full day of our staff learning and working together to make Steelville School District the best it can be for our students!

SHS artist AJ Yarbrough chose to participate in the U.S. Courts Fifth Annual Bill of Rights Day Student Contest, and we could not be more proud of her work! Completing this artwork challenged her to research the Bill of Rights and thoughtfully interpret its contents into a creative form. We think her hard work paid off tremendously!

In order to give crews time to complete the remediation process for a safe return school, the Steelville R-3 School District will not be in session the remainder of this week. We understand the inconvenience this has caused, but we want to ensure that we take all steps necessary to clean, dry, and repair affected areas. We appreciate your patience as we work through this situation. We plan on resuming school on Tuesday November 12th.

Attention, Cardinals! Tomorrow night's middle school girls' basketball game has been moved to licking at their FEMA gym at 6 PM.

Tonight's NHS Senior Citizens' Dinner has been cancelled. This event will be rescheduled for a later date!

Congratulations to our Girls XC team on their 7th place finish and Boys on their 9th place finish at Districts! Congratulations to Landon Rutledge for taking 6th place and qualifying for State!

There will be no school tomorrow, Wednesday, November 5th. A flood mitigation service will be on site tomorrow disinfecting and continuing cleanup in the Elementary and Middle School gyms, as well as in 7 classrooms and several other smaller rooms in the elementary.
This morning, we rushed to the downtown campus at around 4 AM to find quite a huge mess! Thanks to the help and dedication from many staff members, community members, and even some students, and of course our amazing custodial team, what could have been a days-long cleaning project was mostly accomplished by lunchtime! Thank you so much to everyone who came out!

The SMS Girls' Basketball game tonight @ Rolla is still on! This will be A Team only, and the game will start at 5:30 PM.

Hey, Cardinals! We are working on figuring out events that were scheduled for today! So far, we know that today's SMS Boys' Basketball game @ home vs Salem has been cancelled. We will updated ASAP on SMS Girls' Basketball and District Choir Rehearsal!
